CERT: Community Emergency Response Team

Marinwood CERT established in 2009 for Marinwood and Lucas Valley, CA.

A national disaster preparedness program and part of FEMA and Homeland Security.

Marinwood CERT defined for your community.

The CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

The Community Emergency Response Team concept was developed and implemented by the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) in 1985.  CERT is a proud partner of Citizen Corps which is part of Homeland Security and the effort to have everyone in America prepare, train, and volunteer.Citizen-Corp For more information on Citizen Corps go to: Citizens Corps

Marinwood CERT Mission Statement

The purpose for forming Marinwood CERT is to prepare Marinwood residents to take care of themselves and their neighbors in the event of a major disaster when the fire department and other first responders will be overwhelmed and unavailable for a prolonged period.MARINWOOD-logo-200_133-Web

The objective is to reduce the loss of life and permanent injuries that may result from a major disaster by training ourselves to respond in an organized and disciplined manner providing the most benefit to the greatest number of people.
